Peyton Manning in Denver

One of the best players in the NFL was a free agent, so it did not take a long time before he signed a contract of 96 million dollars for 5 years! Indeed, the old quarter back of the Colts of Indianapolis, Peyton Manning signed with the Broncos of Denver a prolific contract after having been the best free agent in the History of the NFL. This closed the debate of where is he going, because a lot of teams were in the run to have the fourth time winner of the title of “player by excellence of the NFL”. Indeed, at the beginning, 12 teams were interested but last week only three teams were in the run: the 49ers of San Francisco, the Titans of Tennessee and the Broncos of Denver.  Moreover, this is causing the end of “the era Tim Tebow” at Denver. So, if his injury at the neck does not harm himself, he is supposed to play at the beginning of the next season. He will play his fourteenth season, but his first in another uniform than the Colts one.

And you, what do you think about the move of Peyton Manning to Denver?

A Second Return for Crosby

Considerate by a lot of person to be the best player of hockey in the world, Sidney Crosby will play his first hockey game since the last December 5th. He was not playing because of a concussion that gave him horrible headaches. But, it is not the first time that he is coming back to action. The last time, at his first game after his first injury (November 21st), he has scored 4 points. So, do you think that he is going to have another powerful return like the last time?  This is what we will see tonight at 7 o’clock when “Sid the Kid” and the Penguins of Pittsburg will confront the Rangers of New York that are at the first position in the East division. My own prediction is that the Penguins will win this game 5 to 3 because they won their last 9 games without Crosby so, with him, they are going to win their 10th. And you, what is your prediction for this game?

Deadline date in the NHL

Yesterday, it was the deadline date for trades in the NHL. Usually, a lot of trades are made at this date because all the teams that will participate in the playoffs want to complete their teams to have a chance to win the Stanley Cup. But this year, not a lot of trades have been made and no very talented player has moved to another team. But Mister Pierre Gauthier (the general manager of the Montreal’s Canadians) has moved a little bit: he traded the right wing Andrei Kostitsyn, who has 24 points this season in 54 games, for a 2nd draft pick in 2013. So, A. Kostitsyn will join his brother Sergei and his old teammate Hall Gill with the Predators of Nashville. Moreover, Mister Gauthier has made the acquisition of Brad Staubitz who was a free player. This player will add muscles to the CH with because he is a very big “go on” player. The Canadians will play their next game tonight against the Lightning of Tampa Bay. Good week everybody!

A Big Sprint for Montreal’s Canadians

We are close to the end of the regular season in the NHL. Presently, Montreal’s Canadians are at the 13th position in the East division. They need 6 points to get a position in the playoffs and this position belongs to Toronto’s Maple Leafs. Moreover, just 22 games are left for them so, they will have to win the big majority of them if they want to participate at the playoffs for a fifth consecutive year. And they will start their final sprint with the next game which is tonight against the Stars of Dallas at the Bell Centre in Montreal. In this game, the centre Tomas Plekanec will be absent because of a flu but the left wing Eric Cole will be back even if he is not in a perfect shape.

Good game everybody!

Do you think that the Canadians will get in the playoffs this year?

The Giants won in the score of 21 to 17. It is the beginning of the playoffs in the NFL. So, after this first week of play, only 8 teams are left: Giants vs. Packers, Broncos vs. Patriots, Ravens vs. Texans and Saints vs. 49ers. All those games will be played this weekend.

If the Broncos are still in the playoffs it’s because of Tim Tebow who had cumulate 316 yards in 10 completions with 2 touchdown passes and no interceptions at the last game versus the Steelers. So let’s see what he can do versus the Patriots at this final of division. Leave your comments if you have a prediction for this game.
